A breathing tube or air hose can look like a simple part, but getting the connection right matters.
Breathing tubes connect a respirator headtop or facepiece to a PAPR blower or supplied-air flow device. Breathing-air hoses carry air from a supplied-air source to the respirator system. This collection brings both together, with options for RPB, Bullard, Optrel and Air Systems equipment.
Start with the make and model of your respirator. Then check whether you need a PAPR breathing tube or supplied-air hose, along with the connector type, coupling, length and diameter. Straight, coiled and backpack configurations are designed for different systems and ways of working.
These components form part of the respirator’s approved setup, so a similar-looking tube or fitting isn’t necessarily compatible. Breathing-air hoses must also be kept separate from lines carrying ordinary worksite air or other gases.
Check tubes and hoses regularly for wear, leaks, damaged fittings or kinks. If you’re unsure what fits, tell us which respirator and air source you’re using and we’ll help you find the right connection.
