Overview
The RPB Z-Link is a loose-fitting respirator helmet that protects your breathing, eyes, face and head in one unit. This package pairs it with the PX5, a battery-powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) worn on a belt that blows filtered air into the helmet, so there is no air line to manage and no face fit test. The Z-Link is used for jobs such as grinding, metal cutting, sanding, painting and foundry work. With the PX5 it is NIOSH approved, and RPB lists an assigned protection factor (APF) of 1,000+ or 500+ depending on the seal or cape.

Filters for the PX5
- Airborne particles: the RPB 03-892 HEPA filter removes up to 99.97% of particles down to 0.12 microns. It does not remove vapors or gases.
- Organic vapors and acid gases: the RPB 03-893 HEPA OV/AG cartridge, which fits with the 03-814 gas filter door.
- Pre-filters: RPB 03-890 pre-filters, pack of 10. Replace one daily to extend the life of the main filter.
Protection
The Z-Link is NIOSH approved as a powered air-purifying respirator when used with the PX5 and approved RPB filters. The helmet also meets ANSI Z87+ for high-impact eye and face protection and ANSI Z89.1 Type I, Class C for head protection, which gives no electrical protection. The APF figures above are RPB's; check the Z-Link user instructions for protection levels. For hearing protection (ANSI S3.19), add the optional RPB Quiet-Link earmuffs (18-533). For welding, choose the Z-Link+ with weld visor.
